SageTV shows volume is changing, but it doesn't
when I change the volume in SageTV, the green bar at the bottom moves showing that the volume should be changing...
but the actual volume level stays the same. mute works. what would cause this?

How are you outputting your sound? Through SPDIF? Through analog outputs? Are you using Directsound or waveout for default audio renderer?
