PVR-500 Features

Forklifting my whole machine so I have some questions. Currently have a PVR-350, but looking at the 500. Can the 500 do TV/-Out like the 350? If so, does it have the same limitations(No DVD/DivX, etc)? If not, is there a better way to get TV-Out other than using a GeForce card, which I seem to never be able to get working? Thanks!

No it can't do TV out. It is an Encoder only (for recording; eg a 250-type function).

Correct, it's only MPEG1/2 encoding; no MPEG4/DIVX/XvID

Depends upon which GF card you are using. The FX series (5xxx and 6xxx) have Nvidia reference TV encoders and don't have the same quality issues that plagued the GF 4 and below.

No the 500 doesn't do TV out.

I've never had any luck with my GeForce3 and TV out. My 6600GT was pretty much plug and play.

Also, the 500 doesn't support closed captioning in Sage.

Does the 500 support CC at all? I don't think it is supported.

Maybe MCE and at least one more: ChrisTV (not a very good looking app but great in features). Flawless CC.
