Add-ons, plug-ins, and MVP
After a full year of hibernation, I've attacked fleshing out my house-wide HTPC project. I've gotten my two new MVP's online (cables currently running across every floor and baseboard until I can really rewire long-term), and the SageTV interface is really nice to have on all my TV's.
That being said, many of the things I have working on the server are achieved via Meedio and not using SageTV. Consequently, they are not available on the MVP. I'm pretty sure the MVP can only pass along SageTV information and nothing else, using the MVP processes. The only plug-in I have running in SageTV is the nice weather suite. I'd be most interested in: - Videos (DivX, Xvid, etc., all non-MVP compliant, from what I understand) - Movie Showtimes and Trailers (Meedio MovieTimesVBNet plug-in, .mov format) - Sports scores (wrote my own simplistic base plug-in, accessible by Meedio) - Stock quotes (yahoo ticker) - Comic strip browser (dailystrips, Meedio picture browser) - Comic book reader (CDisplay, Meedio file browser) - ESPN Motion (although this seems to have been broken w/ a new way of doing it, since early '05). I've browsed the forums, but can't really find any information. Can't tell if it doesn't exist, or just searching in wrong places. I'm guessing studio is still the key, but figured I'd ask explicitly, since it affects my HTPC plans. My server is in my office, and I really need to know if I have to relocate the server in the main family room, so I can have these functions. I forgot how much fun all this HTPC stuff was, now that I have the time to get back into it... Thanks in advance for any help! |
