Audio Loss in 3.0.11

Hi all,

so I've got Sage 3.0.11 working with a Fusion 5 Gold to record and stream HDTV to a client.

However, I've got audio issues. I'm currently using Nvidia pure platinum video and audio decoders.

Basically, everything starts out fine, but whenever I pause, FF/RW, and then play again, video is fine but the audio stream is lost. The audio recovers if I change channels or stop and restart Sage.

I don't even think this is Sage specific, actually. If I play a ts file using WMP, it's basically the same result: starts fine, pause, replay, then audio loss. However, if I hit Stop and replay from the beginning, the audio is restored. This _does_ seem to be ts file specific, though. If I stream a wav file from the Sage server, I can pause/replay no problem.

Is this some sort of audio stream syncing issue or demuxing thing?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ideas/commiseration.

cheers,
Dave

Are you using the onboard audio with your MB? The SoundMAX drivers have this specific problem with XP SP2.

Hey ldavis,

indeed I am using onboard digital out with the SoundMAX drivers! I have an ASUS P4C800-E deluxe MB.
So this is a known issue, huh? Thanks for the heads up.

I'm guessing my options are:

1) Dump SP2

2) Pick up a chaintech or some other cheap PCI soundcard with digital out.

Any other options?

Thanks,
Dave

Those are the only options I know of.
