Wrong Channel!
Any idea what would cause Sage to record the wrong channel when no set top box is involved?
The story: I am running v2.2.8 and I had a manual recording setup for the Bears game at Noon on Fox (channel 12). I padded the end until 3:59 and set the quality to MPEG2 Max Quality. When I checked the recording when I got home today it showed the recording, but when I watched it it was nothing but Telemundo (ch 4, removed from my EPG). I checked all other things it recorded this weekend and they are all correct, so it is seems to be tuning normally.. I can also watch Live TV and change the channel as expected. It was just this one recording that for whatever reason got channel 4 instead of 12. Ideas? |

I setup a manual recording for the Backhawks game tonight with similar padding and video quality.. I guess we will see if the problem rears its head again.
I kept thinking I must have done something wrong, but I couldnt find anything and this setup has worked pretty flawlessly for a LONG time. |

Ok. I am narrowing it down. My Blackhawks recording ended up recording Telemundo... just like the Bears one. So last night I setup a recording for some random discovery channel show and did not pad it, but set it to MPEG2 Max Quality. It ALSO recorded channel 4 (Telemundo).
So... Any idea why when I choose Max Quality it ends up taping channel 4? |

Does it only happen with that recording quality? And, what tuner are you using?

Yes. I tried it with just the recording quality and it tuned to channel 4 (Telemundo). I am using a single pvr-250. All other recordings work ok, it is only when I do a manual recording and change the quality to MPEG2 Max Quality. (I havnt tried other qualities to see if it does it then).

And this is with the internal tuner on the 250? I don't remember hearing about this sort of issue. You could see what tech support has to say.
Also, since you are using v2, you might want to see what v3 does. - Andy

Yea... its just coax coming out of the wall and going into the 250...
Its strange.. This setup has worked for me since the day 2.2.8 was released, but I cant remember ever using the Max Mpeg quality. Ill try a different quality and see if it has issues. The only thing I can think that ive changed lately is when the comskip utitliy is allowed to run (while awake is now allowed). This is my max quality entry, is there anything wrong with it? seeker/recording_qualities/MPEG2\ Max\ Quality\ -\ 5.6GB\ per\ hr=MPEG2 Max Quality,384,48000,12575000 I dont think it is the problem because I end up with roughly a 18 gig file for 3 - 3.5 hours of video. |

I tried a "Great" quality recording and it worked fine... im stumped. I guess ill just live with it and hope that V3 doesnt do this also.

BTW - the seeker/recording_qulaities properties aren't used any more. You should have one that looks like:
mmc/python2_encoding/MPEG2\ Max\ Quality=videobitrate\=12000000|vbr\=0|width\=720|height\=480|audiobitrate\=384|outputstreamtype\=0|audiosampling\=48000 - Andy
