Aspect Ratio issue

If I am watching 4:3 material and choose source - it looks identical to choosing 4:3. However, watching 16:9 material and choosing source - i get a weird partly cutoff bigger than 4:3 but smaller than 16:9 sort of thing happening. Selecting 16:9 makes everything work again properly.

The thing is - I like using source because I watch a lot of both types of programming.

Any ideas?

Source aspect ratio only works well when the pixels are square -- ie 640x480 or 768x576 on a 4x3 display, and 858x480, 1024x576 or 1280x720 on a 16x9 display... This is because Sage does not know the aspect ratio of your display, and has to assume that the pixels are square... (you can correct this by altering the zoom on the apect ratio settings)

So you may be using an odd aspect ratio, or have an odd zoom/offset setting for the source aspect ratio -- check detailed setup/multimedia...

Certain Codecs will NOT derive correct aspect ratios in Source. I have a call logged to Sonic on that right now.
In fact, Nvidia is the only codec I have found that does it reliably in both renderers.

I stand corrected, - that is one that DOES work for me also. but the performance makes it unuseable - I probably have a setting wrong for it.
