Purchasing a new video card
I have the ATI Radeon 9200. Picture quality is great and I am running RCA cable for video out. (yellow connector) But I cannot stand the black bar on the bottom.
I have heard that the 5200 gets rid of this issue and some say the picture quality is better some say its worse, but all comments were made on Svideo out. What about RCA out (yellow connector) as that is what I would want to run since all the cables are ran already and my pc is in a different room. Another feature that would be nesseary is to clone the video display so its on my TV and my monitor (for doing tweaking) Will I be happy with the 5200 and RCA out? Thanks |

Can't comment on the 5200 since I haven't seen one in action, But I want to give you a second option.
The matrox G550. I personally think this card has the best tv-out available, no black bars, perfect alligning of the scanlines with a tv-set wich means you don't have to de-interlace, just set the codecs on weave and you have a perfect picture. I also have a radeon 9500 pro wich has the same tv-out as teh 9200 if i'm not mistaken, although the radeon is pretty good I think the G550 is defintly better. card comes with a tv out cable that has both a rca and a svideo connector, i use the rca for my philips widescreen tv (the svideo input of the tv got broken) and I'm very pleased with the quality. Only downside is that is absolutly horrible with games

Did you give Powerstrip a try? Program allow you to customize resolutions. Works very well. As you've heard S- Video will give you better PQ.
