Converting from mapped drives to UNC
I want to enable the server and run it off my user login account.
Currently all my drives are mapped network drives. If I go and add the UNC equivalent to the videos directory, how do I convert the existing files to be UNC instead of mapped? Will I loose any info by converting? thanks, |

Check out this long & confusing FAQ.
It is possible to convert, but you should back up your config files & so on. Also, make sure the old mapped driver letter still is pointing to some enpty dir so that SageTV can see that the existing recordings are no longer in their old locations. Otherwise, it won't accept them at the new UNC paths. - Andy

Ok, I tried this on the 3.0.13 beta and it just converted everything for me automagically!
Nice improvement, guess I should have posted this to that forum instead. thanks, |
