In the IMDB site the Rating is listed as Certification in the main details page... There it lists the certificates for every country it knows about.
I have not bothered parsing that to add to my plugin...
The Rating in the program info comes from the EPG data source that Sage uses.

I am still using Sage 4.1.3.67 along with SageMC which works fine for my needs. I'd rather not spend the money to upgrade to a newer version since it took months to get this setup customized and working without any glitches.

But over the past while the imdb lookup hasn't been working correctly, the data is not downloaded I'm assuming due to some change with their data structure.

Is there anything I can do to update the imdb lookup tool without having to upgrade to the newer version of Sage?

Hmmm... what do I do wrong? The last few versions of the plugin did not work for me, It always looks like this:

The first three "tabs" are always blank, Quotes and Trivia work.

Any ideas?

The fact that the General/Allegemein tab is blank is because I did not take into account sage UI translations. I will release a fix for this shortly, but if you want to be brave and edit it yourself in Studio, PM me...

The fact that the other tabs are blank are because you are using an old nielm_sageimdb.jar file, or because you have a net/sf/sageplugins/sageimdb directory tree left behind...

Only upgrading to SageTV 6 needs $. You can upgrade to V5 for free...

you could try replacing the nielm_sageimdb.jar file with one from the more recent plugin relases (eg V4.6) but as you are using an old SageMC, I don't know how well it would work...

So how do I save IMDB info on my Sage?

So I installed the STVI.
Works fine, and just the thing I needed (MANYMANY THANKS!).

But I have one problem, or maybe I don't understand the feature well.

I have a movie stored on my hard drive. Lets say Borat.
I go to the imported videos, select the movie file (named Borat), and using the IMDB option I do an IMDB search.
I get few options, the first one is the right one.
So how do I save the information found?
I would like that the image given from imdb will be saved locally on my computer so for any future use, I will see the 'borat' image next to the file.
If the information that was found can be attached to the file as well, that will be fine.

So it is either I am doing something wrong, or I don't understand the stvi well.
Is it just intend to allow a search in IMDB, or should allow to save the info found on the computer as well?
Or at least allow to save the movie image locally (but how do I do that?)

And again, many thanks for the STVI! That is a great help.

Thanks,

PS - using Sage v6.1 if that matters. default STV (not Mc or anything else).

If you install this STVi after installing the IMDB Search import, it will allow you to save the image and information.

import problem

ok, it could be a beginners question - but here it goes.
By mistake, I imported this STVi twice.
So now, under the imported media menu - I can see the 'IMDB Search" option twice.
They both works fine of course, however it just 'burn' my eyes
How can I remove one of them?

Thanks in advance.

In general imports don't get removed; you just start over and don't import the one you don't want.

But, in this case... if you imported it twice in a row & there was no other import after that, then there may be an easy way to go back 1 step: Each time you import an STVi, the number added to the end of your STV file is incremented by 1. So, starting with SageTV3.xml, you may be up to something like SageTV3-2.xml (or higher). Look at the STV filename you are using now & load (not import) the one prior to it. For SageTV3-2.xml, you would load SageTV3-1.xml.

Ok, so here is the problem.
I did imported something else after.
So if now I have tv3-6 so the duplicated one creasted 3-5.
So all I need to do is to restore 3-4 and do the last import again?

Is there an easy way (maybe editing menu file or xml file)?

Thanks,

Amit

I see you've gotten answers here too. But, you could probably just back off a couple import versions, then import the last one again.

For future reference, you might want to look into the batch importer.

ok, this STVi is gr8t! Just maybe one request :D

Ok, since I used this IMBD Search with Sage, I am having so much fun.
This STVi is really one of those things that makes a different.
T-H-A-N-K-S

However, I may have one suggestion, request.
This STVi is perfect as it is for English users.
However, myself, as Israeli users, the entire EPG info is in Hebrew.
So, for every show/movie I would like to do 'IMDB Search' on it, I am getting 0 results, and need to manually type the name of the movie in English.
BUT, the name of the movie in English is already in the description field.

So, a great feature could be to 'parse' the description for another name.
I know it is not that simple, but maybe still possible?

I attached a screen capture for an example of the Program Guide in Hebrew and the name of the movie both in Hebrew and English (Still Crazy).

I just wonder if anything can be done on that matter?

Thanks in advance.

Amit

one more screen caputre, to elaborate the need :D

In this screen capture, you can see that when I select the specific show, the name of the show is both in Hebrew and English, but when I hit the 'IMDB Search' key, asearch is been done only for the Hebrew text.

Could be very good if the search can be done on either of the names (I will probably hit the english name).

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

I recently upgrade my computer and started fresh. I have the latest SageTV and all is working except I don't see the IMDB search option.

I followed the instructions for loading the stv, it loads, no errors, but I cannot see the IMDB search optoins. I may be something simple I forgot to do, but it's been a while since I played with SageTV options.

I have Neim's dynamic menus.

What did I leave out?

Edit: I have imdb_search_import_6_4
P.S. DB instructions is locked

New versions to fix the search function.

This is just a JAR file update only -- no need to re-import. just shutdown sage, unpack, and restart.

v6.5 (Jun 28 2007) for SageTV v6.0/6.1 ( Download)
* Fixed Search function (JAR update only)

v4.7 (Jun 28 2007) for SageTV v5.0 (Download)
* Fixed Search function (JAR update only)

Does this update include the UI translations fixes you mentioned in post 184?

Obviously not, because the fixes would need an updated STVi and not just a .jar file, right?

Does this fix IMDB searching in SageMC, or is that a separate issue?
