Hello - this is a great plug in and we all really appreciate it. However, I would like to point out that there is still a long standing bug in the search. Many movies if I go to my Imported Videos and click on a Movie and where it says "Watch Now, View Video Detail, IMDB Search, Basic Options, etc) if I select IMDB search it does not find the movie. It lists a few movies but that specific movie in my Imported Videos (depending on the movie) is not there. However, if I click View Video Detail, Options, IMDB Search then it lists a LOT more movies and the movie almost always is there. It's like it is a more complete search. I can post some screen shots if you like. I just don't understand why selecting it from there lists more movies.

It's fixed in 6.1 -- thats what 'Fix Media Library search bug (used video name, not full path)' meant!

Right - but I just installed this update (because I noticed that the General, Cast and other things were no longer showing so I'm guessing they changed the web site again but your update fixed that). But, it still does not seem to work with regards to the path. Could it be that you fixed it for Sage TV Recordings and perhaps in the Guide but not in Imported Videos? One last thing - I am running the Dynamic Menu Ver 5.5 Dec 8/2006 so I'm not sure if that would have any bearing on this.

I like many others really appreciate this plugin.

I also think that SageTV should buy your setup and put it under the SageTV distribution. This is one of those features that becomes a neccessity after a while.

Not sure if SageTV is paying you Neil, but they should if not.

Mike: did you re-import the STV into the base SageTV3.xml?
What does it say it is searching for at the top of the search results page (Found xx results when searching for Title xxxx) is there different between the message there when you search from the library popup, or from the detailed info popup?

Something is going wrong when there's only 1 result to the query:

IMDB read failed:

net.sf.sageplugins.sageimdb.DbfailureExeption: java.io.
IOExeption: Server returned HTTP response code:400 for URL:
http://former.imdb.comcom/title/....../combined

Maybe it's just the .comcom typo?

can Imdb Search currently, or are there any plans to add a feature where you can:

1. Pick a whole directory of movies to tag.
2. Imdb Search takes the first one gives the user a list of search results.
3. The user picks the correct one and saves.
4. Imdb Search automatically goes to the next in the list and returns the results.
5. Repeat until list is done.

Great plugin btw. Also I have noticed in SageMC at least...not sure about default stv, but the imdb data has quotes,trivia and other interesting things about the movie, but when I actually look at the data saved, these pieces of information are nowhere to be found Only the movie description and actors. Am I missing something?

Thanks nielm, works great It's great to get meaningful searches again for imported videos.

Now if I could just have the episode information displayed in the General/Summary field for TV shows that use Plot Outline: instead of Plot Summary: (example here) it would really make my day.

Metadata extraction is something SageMC does itself -- I have no plans to include it in the STVI for the default STV. Your best bet is to ask in the SageMC thread for these features...

This stuff can be saved in a .my file using this import for the default STV.

Okay...I still think it's a bug in the IMDB. Here's my example, in Imported Videos, I have mp4 files. I click on the movie "A Few Good Men" and I get Screen1 (see attached) - this is expected.

Now - here's the mystery: from Screen1 if I click IMDB Search it only lists a few movies (only 5 movies) and "A Few Good Men" is not even in the listings at all (see Screen2 attached).

But - if from Screen1 I click View Video Detail and then click Options and then click IMDB Search, I get a lot of results (200 movies found) and the movie I'm looking for is at the top of the list (see Screen 3).

I have already downloaded your latest imdb_search_import_6_3

Mike: You have not re-imported the STVi. As already mentioned, I fixed this in 6.1's STVI. The give-away is that I also added scrollbars, which you don't have in your screenshots.
