Lost my recordings: Daylight Savings?

Hi all,

This morning I went to watch a show I recorded last night (Saturday Night Live, which was 11:30PM to 1AM) and all of my recordings (about 12 shows) were gone, including Saturday Night Live.

The only thing remaining in the RECORDINGS was the current TV show and a recording I made last March or so.

The time on SAGETV menu is correct, showing the Daylight Savings time.

I checked my Default Hard Drive and I have 84GB free, so I don't believe I ran out of space, even if the twelve shows lost were taken into account.

I do all my recordings manually, telling it to record from the LIVE TV menu, rather than setting anything scheduled, mainly because I know these are given a higher priority for auto-deletion.

Anyone else have trouble taping something DURING the Daylight Savings switch? Or is this, as my wife put it, "just one of those things"?

Thanks.

I doubt the Daylight Savings time switch had anything to do with it, I've never had any issues. Sounds like you have something else hinky in your system setup.

w/o knowing any more details, you can also lose lots of recordings if SageTV has to delete files to make room for a new recordin & there is something like Norton Protected Recycle Bin active. In that case, the files aren't actually deleted & SageTV sees that the space is still in use, so it deletes another file to make more room... and the cycle continues until most of your recordings are gone.

You could also use the Options command in the SageTV Recordings list & make sure the recordings aren't simply filtered out. (Are the files still on the drive?)

I'd do what Opus4 suggested. Maybe the files are still there and there is some problem with your Wiz.bin or something?

I'm still running 3.0.11.46 and recored SNL from 11:30-1am (plus 62 minutes padding) and it's there as well as all my other recordings going back to the middle of September and my archived recordings going back to just about the same date. I've also got a couple imported files going back 2-3 years that are still there.

Hopefully the files are still there and it's just a Wiz.bin problem or something recoverable at least.

Thanks for the replies.

No, the files are no longer in the folder on the hard drive. The one recording it saved is still there, but just that and the current show.

I can't imagine it's a space issue since this is a second hard drive JUST for shows. It is currently showing 100+GB free and I keep it pretty empty.

I am pleased to see someone else succesfully recorded over the Daylight Savings so at least I know that's not the issue.

Thanks for the input. I guess this one just goes in the head-scratcher category.
