saving shows to different folders?

Is there anyway to tell SageTV to save its files into different directories, based on a Category?

Say you want all movie files saved to
G:\SageTVContent\Movies

and want regualar tv programs saved to
G:\SageTVContent\TVShows

and sports shows recorded to
G:\SageTVContent\Sports

Is there anyway to accomplish that with settings, plugins, stv's?

Just wondering....

Thanks

This is the only thing I miss about BTV. The abilitiy to store a favorite to a specific directory.

Yes, I would REALLLLLLY like to have that ability. As I am thinking through various content management ideas, having the ability to store the recorded programs in directories that I specify would be a useful feature. Then it would be easier to tell other outside programs to process only certain directories, based on what I was trying to accomplish in the grand scheme of my content management.

I wonder how BTV did it, and if there is anyway to make SageTV do it? Even with a bandage or trick or two...

I don't think so, since the wiz.bin file only looks for info from the recording directories and I think the wiz.bin is closed off even from people with studio...

While there is no way to tell SageTV where specific recordings are to be saved, you are at least able to move them after the fact now, if you really want to. I posted some more info about that here. (This is for versions 3 & 4.)

That is a nice feature... One thing I've been wanting (somewhat related) is the ability to have a given tuner save to a given location as primary.

So, in reference to the notion of moving recordings.

If I want to create directories for recordings (so my xbox media center setup will have some better organization when accessing my recordings) would I:

A. Setup an import directory and have subdirectories in that and just put each show into it's subdirectory in the import directory and when sage rescans it will see things in the subdirectory of the import directory or

B. Create a Videos directory, then create a bunch of subdirectories under it and make each of them an import directory and then move shows each to their own import directory??

And I have to say, this is the one hole left in Sage (loving version 4.) It makes it kind of a proprietary program instead of allowing it to be the host for a variety of clients.

Thanks

Option A; SageTV scans all subdirectories of an import directory.
