Cayars STV? Will it erase my list of upcoming shows to record?

I want to install Cayars STV, but I spent a bunch of time tonight, scheduling a bunch of shows to record. I am wondering if I install this stv, will it remember all the shows I just scheduled. If not, is there a way to save the list, and reimport into the new stv?

Thanks

The core program is what tracks scheduled recordings, not the STV. So, switching STVs shouldn't affect your schedule.

Good. Then I am getting close to installing my first STV. Decided to attempt Cayars, since it has pretty much everything I want.

Thanks!

Recommendation ... before you do, go in to your ...

c:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV

... folder and make a Backup folder. Copy all of the files and folders in the SageTV folder to it ...

If you have an issue and bomb out on the STV you can close SageTV, delete the files under the SageTV folder (except for the Backup folder of course) and just copy originals back.

Then you can start over with the same or new STV in a flash ...

That's what I do and it saves me a ton of time when doing a lot of testing or customizing ...

T.

Yes, I already did that tonight, copy and pasted the whole folder to
xxxxx_copy1.

Thanks for reminding me though.

Then I got about 10 pages through the 182 page thread about cayars stv, and got lost...and somewhat hopeless that its too difficult to install cayars in any short amount of time. sigh.

not exactly hopeless. depends on what functions you want. otherwise, the install is fairly straightforward.
