Cannot change channels

Hi, I'm using the beta version 3.0.14.
I have the Hauppauge WinTV USB with the latest drivers and also have WinTV 2000 with the latest version. I'm also using NVIDIA as the decoder, but I have tried SageTV Decoder as well. I cannot change the channel through SageTV. If I open up WinTV 2000 and change the channel, it works fine, and when I open up SageTV it is on the same channel that I left WinTV 2000 on, but I cannot change it through SageTV. When I try to, it shows the different channel information and details, but the actual channel stays the same.

Running Windows XP SP2 with all the latest updates.

Any ideas? I found a few other threads here about people not being able to change channels, but I did not find any useful information.

Well, I couldnt figure it out, so I tried different software. There is a program called VLC Media Player. It's FREE and open source. Maybe not as flashy as SageTV, but it's feature rich and it works. And it's FREE.

I've tried version 4 now as well but it still has the same problem. Is there any answer to this?

I think that is a software tuner, which Sage doesn't support very well (software tuners that is). If you were to go with a hardware encoder, like a PVR150, you probably would have more success. You could also hook it to a cablebox, and use it's RCA inputs, and control the box with something like a USB-UIRT and it'd probably work as well (since the USB tuner seems to get you video, just can't change channels).

Hmm...yeah that's a bummer. I know that v4 was sopposed to have better support for software tuners, but I guess it's still not that great. I know there are other things I can buy, but right now I'm not looking to invest any more money and just do with what I got, so I'll have to keep looking for another solution. Thanks for your reply.
