SageTVClient and non-administrator access

I just installed SageTVClient on my daughter's XP computer on which she has a limited user account. On startup, SageTVClient displays the error message "Please run this program from the Administrator account so it can set up your license. Once the license is set up, you can run it from any account."

Sounds great but how and when does it set up the license? I can use the "run as" command and run it as an administrator but it still displays this message the next time its started. The program was originally installed under an adminstrator account and the license information was entered at that time.

Along the same lines...what permissions are required for the login that SageTV in service mode uses?

I received a reply back from the official SageTV support. They are looking into the issue but do not have a solution at present. Sigh.

SageTV Recorder - same problem

Liking that SageTV worked with my Roslyn board, but not needing the guide feature - I purchased SageTV Recorder - only to be plagued by the same problem as in my earlier post, and the original beginning this thread - that being non-admin accounts can not use SageTV (recorder) even though the software has been provided with registration info and the system reboot.

Providing write and change access to affected users does not clear the problem. Tech-Support ... a solution would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks ... in advance!

This isn't an official technical support forum. You need to contact Sage directly if you want to communicate with Sage tech support.

Did that too ... but hoped somebody out there may have come up with or already received a solution besides. There has been no answer offered on this forum since the problem was first posted back in Dec 2004!
