Question How many days until the next new STV (Poll) :)

So now that Studio is out..... how many days do you think it will be until we start seeing an onslaught of new STV's for Version 4.0?

It depends on what you'll accept as qualifying as a new STV. I think changes to the look and other minor changes could be done within a couple of weeks, but I would be surprised if a STV adding a significant new capability or a radical alteration of the user interface appeared within the month.

I think I would say anyone who creates either a significant modification to an existing STV, or creates a new basic STV with typical SageTV functionality.

I'm personally hoping to see some GUI's with a different type of look.... color combos, layouts.... I haven't looked at Studio enough to see if it's something I'll play around with yet... I am no programmer.. lol

Probably less than a month, although for the larger UI feel changes, it will take longer. Re-arranging stuff is pretty easy, changing the layout is too, but once you start getting into new themes, there gets to be a lot to do.

If the question is how long until a completely new, original, fully-funtional STV, my guess is at least a couple of months.

It's a lot more work than people realize.

I don't mean to discourage people though, I can't wait to see it.

I'll guess the beginings of new STVs will show up within a month.

If an import counts then Abasu2003 is the winner. He came out with this the first night.

I'd count it, but judging by the speed, I suspect that Abasu2003 might have had access to Studio prior to SageTV4's release.

If any sort of modification to an existing STV counts, then I just voted for < 3 days because of this one.

(I like to vote after I already know the answer.)
