Specify Primary Encoder
I've tried to find the answer in the forums, but I've had no luck. It's probably there, but I can't seem to find it...
If you go to View Recording Schedule and view Interleaved, you'll see how Sage has 'ranked' the capture devices. From left to right, if there is only one show to be recorded it will be recorded with the first device; a second show will use the second device and so on. I'm having some quality issues with the device that Sage has chosen for its primary encoder. How can I convince Sage to use a different device as its primary? I've tried removing the device, editing the properties file to eliminate it there (with everything off of course), then adding it back. When I add it back it goes back to being the primary device. There must be a setting somewhere that Sage is remembering. Thanks, Mike. |

Do a search for encoder_merit in the forums and in the user's manual for instructions how to do this.

Beware that encoder_merit does not seem to be working correctly. There is a thread talking about its issues. If you have two shows recorded back to back, it will not use the highest priority encoder for both shows. It will only schedule us the highest priority encoder for the first show.
I have had to set all my favorites to only record shows on a single channel to get it to work. Fortionately, at this time I do not have more that a single favorite recording at a time. |
