'Black Screen' for video via SageTV client???

I had this same problem with SageTV 3.x and never had an opportunity to resolve it. I have now upgraded to SageTV 4 and have tried it again with simimlar results.

SageTV at the main PC with video card works fine and always has. The PC is a high end dual core AMD processor, Hauppauge 250 card, etc.,etc. The PC on which I have installed the client is a very standard IBM Thinkpad T22.

I have configured the client the best I can determine. It connects to the main pc. I can play music, view photos and scroll through the TV guide from the remote pc. However, if I try to play recorded TV programming or watch live TV I get a blank screen. If I play back recorded TV, I see the progress bar moving across the bottom of the window but a completely 'black' screen is all I get for video.

Any help here would be appreciated. I had this working in a much older version of Sage and wish to get it going again.

Thanks,
David

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve?

Thanks,

Try changing your video renderer.

client...

Also check that there you have not enabled 'Theater mode' or something similar in the video driver settings (it puts the video overlay on the secondary display)
