No sound

SageTV worked well until recently, when suddenly there was no audio, whether watching live TV or a recording. I checked the audio settings in detailed setup, and they are correct. I also togled Ctrl+Shift+M to make sure that mute was not on, but that made no difference.

This is not a system problem with my computer. The audio works in other applications, such as Windows Media Player and the WinTV software that came with my Hauppauge TV tuner card. Only Sage TV lacks sound.

Any idea what the problem could be?

If you are using an external STB, then maybe the audio cable fell out of your tuner card?

Ever since I updated to the new version just a few days ago, sound stopped working in SageTV, yet all other applications produce sound just fine.
The mute button will toggle on and off when I press mute, however, the volume buttons on my keyboard or my IR remote to not respond, yet all other key strokes or remote button presses respond as they should.

The volume indicator on the bottom left shows that the volume is all of the way down and yet it will not increase when I press volume up. I checked my audio settings within the software and they look fine, same as they always were.

No sound

That's funny. I just installed V4.0 and my sound worked until I rebooted the system... then nothing. NO sound works on my system at all. No winamp, no itunes, no zoomplayer, nothing. Everything I can find seems to indicate that it should work, nothing's muted, etc. What's up? If anyone figures it out, please post. Thanks.

Well I feel stupid. After installing the latest audio drivers to no effect, it turns out the 'wave' slider was all the way at the bottom. I know I didn't put it that way, so watch out for Sage trickery with the audio settings.

Today I had the most bizarre sound problem ever using SageTV 4. No sound at all on channels below 15 but audio was fine on higher channels. After reboot, no sound on channels 2, 5, 6, 7 and perhaps others but sound on other channels where previously there was none. Reboot again and all seems fine. Very strange indeed.
