Can't Use NVIDIA Codecs in Sage4

Hi...I have installed the newest Nvidia Purevideo software. In Sage Setup if I choose Nvidia as the Video/Audio Mpeg 2 Video Decoder Filter, Sage will not display video or sometimes will just crash. I am running a Nvidia 6600gt card with latest drivers and a Dvico Fusion 5 hdtv gold card. Right now Sage is using the Intervideo filter, although I dont even remember installing it. Any ideas would be helpful as I am almost near the end of the trial for this software and need to decide if its worth buying with all the issues I've had with it. Thanks

Get the XP Video Checkup utility. Set Nvidia as the default MPEG-2/DVD decoder, then set SageTV to use default decoder.

Do you have TheatreTek (I think that's the name) installed? It is known to set a registry entry to hide the Nvidia Decoder tray icon.

Here is a quote from this thread:

Quote:
If you aren't getting the icon to show up, try going into your registry and find the Nvidia tree under local machine/software/nvidia or something like that. There should be a registry entry for DisableTrayIcon. Make sure that is set to 0. If its set to 1, you won't get the icon. If its still not using the nvidia codec, you'll need to evaluate all your mpeg2 decoders and see which one has highest merit. There are various programs you can use to manually change the filter merits. I use one called FilterManager (not sure where I got it from). I believe BsPlayer and Media Player Classic will both show you what decoders are chosen for displaying a stream (ie, the default decoders).

Yes I do as that is set as my default DVD player. Is there a way to check if it is shutting it down? Thanks for all the help.

Thanks very much. I was able to set it in the registry and now I do see the icon. Should I have 2 icons, 1 for audio 1 for video, like I do in Media Player? I am only getting the video one.
