Under-powered Video Card?

Ok so I just Downloaded SageTV and I want to make sure i didnt to something wrong. I think that I might be using an underpowered video card, but before I buy a newer one I want to make sure.

I am using an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400

Sage installs fine, but when the console opens I select my Country (USA) and the screen turns black.

I've searched the Forums, BUT:
  1. I can't figure out what FSE means in some of the posts or how to start it.
  2. I don't know how to activate "Overlay". Is it something with the card or SageTV itself? If its in Sage, how do I turn it on if the program goes blank.
  3. How do I know if I have a video renderer installed? Is it a seperate program or did I over look something with the install???

Any help is very appreciated. Don't flame me, I've looked in the search but all the posts I have read dont fix my problem (i.e. turning off the Sage service, deleting the SageClient.properties file, etc)

I can't remember whether 3D Acceleration is on by default, but you can check that setting by making sure SageTV is not running at all, then editing the sage.properties file in your SageTV directory. If you are using service mode, then edit sageclient.properties. (If editing in Notepad, make sure Format -> Word Wrap is not checked.)

Set:

ui/accelerated_rendering=false

Then restart SageTV to see if that helps.
