auto record using 'search by description'

is there a way to auto record items that match a search criteria?

i used to love this feature with my ultimate tv. i'd like to set up an auto record feature to record anything with 'indiana pacers' in the description.

See p. 65 in the v4 PDF manual in your SageTV directory regarding adding Favorites. I believe you want to see the info for Keyword favs, starting on the next page.

thank you for the quick response! it's got me setup pretty well now.

i didn't see in the manual, is it possible to filter by category and also by keyword. for instance, can i search for items with the keyword "colts football" in the "sports events" category to keep me from getting items like the pre/post game shows?

While you can't set up a mixed type fav like category + keyword, you could try using "colts football sports event" (w/o quotes) as the keyword phrase. That should work, since the keywords compare against category too, as mentioned on p. 67 where it talks about Keyword Favorite Types.
