Tip on WRS config n V.4

Not sure if this has been covered before, but I figure someone might benefit by it ...

I have useed WRS since Sage 2.0.20 and have customized the weatherconfig.xml file to move and rename buttons, add traffic, etc.

I installed the latest WRS plugin from this post as directed on my new Saghe 4.0 build per the link below.

After I copied my old weatherconfig over all was well ... except ... for one National Map ...

The default WRS button is named "U.S. Weather" and loads the US Predominant Weather Map.

When clicked ... Sage would just hang ... the little rotating Sage Icon appeared and just kept rotating ... Sometimes I could break out by clicking the Home Sage Logo at the top Left corner of the screen, other times it would time out and take the prior map being viewed, shrink it an place it in the upper left of the map area. And other times it would just lock up Sage and force me to End Task in the Task Manager!

I started comparing my customized XML from days gone by with the one that came with the new WRS download.

It appeared that two things changed ...

1 - The maxage was changed from 2 to 6 in the viewname="usPredominantWeather" section of the file, and

2 - I notices just below that when comparing all of the href image files that the new XML had several of the href image statements commented out ... i.e.

Bla Bla bla

End Comment -->

So, since my XML is very custom, rather than start from scratch with the new XML file I just Copied / Pasted this section from it to my old file.

Restarted Sage and WaLa !!! Worked like a charm ...

BTW ... Not sure how it will affect TV play / recoerd yet ... but ... I love the new load WRS features in the Detailed Setup ... No more waiting!!
