DVD Playback

Hi All,

I have an external Sony DVD burner that I have started to use for playing back DVDs in SageTV and in certain high action scenes I get stuttering and jumpiness briefly. The DVD drive is rather old and is only a 2x Read. I am thinking since my DVD burner is now rather old to move to a newer Burner. Is my assumption that the DVD reader is too slow too keep up in high action? My CPU is plenty fast enough and it behaves the same in either SageTV or directly in the DVD player software.

Thanks,
John

OK I am a stupid...I figured out why it occasionally stuttered. My realtime virus scanner was scanning the VOB files when they got opened which is why it did not happen that frequently...I exlcuded all the DVD files from scanning.
