java crashes in v4

hey, I have upgraded to v4 and love it so far.
only thing that is a nuisance is a sun jave crash, I seem to get pretty regularly after sage has been running (even in sleep mode) for a bout 48 hours.
It causes sage to hang and send an error report to MS error reporting.
i dont even mind that, it's just that if it happens when I am not around, all my recording schedule goes to crap.

too bad there wasnt a trigger one could setup to detect an application death, and relaunch it.

Or better still, a fix from Sun or Frey for this.
I am using the newest jave (1.50 i think)... I notice that sage comes with 1.46... maybe I should roll back?

SageTV v4 will run fine with Jave 1_50 Update 5, as posted by Sage in a thread of mine. If you're using service mode, a crash in the UI shouldn't cause a problem with the service recording. I'm running 1_50_5 without a problem...I uninstalled all earlier versions (they stay installed even when upgrading, unless you remove them).

I had the same issue after upgrading, and tried rolling back/forward java, turning on the debug logging and working with Sage Support. Three weeks of trying, but no luck...

Backed up the wiz.bin, reinstalled a fresh copy of XP, installed the 4.0 version of Sage (no upgrade) and all these problems went away. Not the easiest resolution but one none the less.

I used to have those until I learned to just stick with the version that came with Sage zero issues after that.
