Do you mean you don't even see any UI when you start it up? Just a black screen? Or are you having some problem with playback?

Can you set the property:
debug_logging=TRUE
in the Sage.properties file and then try again. Then post your sagetv_0.txt log file here so we can see what happened.

Sage.properties is in your SageTV directory, where the sagetv.exe file is located; see p. 216 of the PDF manual (also in your SageTV dir) regarding editing that file.

Also try setting ui/accelerated_rendering=false to disable 3D Acceleration. If using service mode, set that in sageclient.properties.

You'll have to add that property line.

So what's the problem you're having?

According to your logs, you started SageTV then watched "Tiny Tots for Jesus" for a few seconds by clicking Watch Live TV. Then you went to the EPG and selected a "No Data" entry in the EPG. Then you waited 10 seconds and selected "Police Academy 5" and watched that for a few seconds and then shut down SageTV.

So what was the problem?

Go into Setup->Configuration Wizard->Configure Video Playback and adjust the playback configuration in there (there's 4 or 5 default settings for it). Do any of those make a difference?

Just a guess... are you using overlay & is it on what Windows considers to be the secondary monitor? (In Windows' Display Properties -> Settings.)

Some video card drivers and or decoders are not able to display overlay on a secondary monitor.

Try switching monitors and/or go to Detailed Setup -> Video/Audio to change the Video Renderer & Decoder Filter.
