Initial aspect ratio

I'm running Sage 4 on a secondary 16x9 screen.
To get transparent menus I have to use Overlay with Color keying or VMR9 with 3D acceleration. Using 3D acceleration on secondary screen however uses 95% CPU.
Now when using Overlay and clicking Watch Live TV, aspect ratio is ignored. Even if I've got 16x9 selected Sage is set to 100% horitz / 100% vert strech. Changing to any other ratio, i.e. Fill, and then back to 16x9 again, will make the correct aspect ratio being used. From here I can change channels and everything is fine until I close the file and go back to Live TV or Watch Now from the Program Guide. Ratio is back to 100%/100% even though the menu says 16x9.

The funny thing is that VMR9 or Default Video Renderer (which isn't the same as Overlay or VMR9!?) doesn't have this issue. But I can't use those due to the CPU and transparency issue. Also I don't want to manually change aspect ratio twice every time I start watching TV.
Is this a bug or am I doing anything wrong?

I also tried nielms Automatic Aspect Ratio Switcher and it says "AutoAspect: Setting Aspect Ratio to 16x9 for: Default aspect ratio for TV files" when tuning a channel but still that ratio isn't used. It's still 100%/100%
