V4 and CPU Maxing

Since I've upgraded to V4, the CPU on my machine runs at 100% for about a minute and a half anytime I either finish watching a recording or delete a recording.

I'm guessing that Sage is rebuilding the file database (or something) to reflect the change in the file as either watch or deleted. But it causes terrible stuttering on any file I try to watch in that period and slows the response of the remote. I can tell the machine is working hard because I can hear the cooling fans rev up during this period (and then down again once its over).

Anybody else seeing this? Is this a bug or a feature? Had nothing like it occur in a couple of years of using version 2.

might be a corrupt wiz.bin file... try renaming it wiz.bak and letting sage create you a new one just to test with. If that's not it delete the new one and rename the .bak file bak to .bin...

Do NOT rename it as wiz.bak in the same SageTV directory -- that is what SageTV uses as its own wiz.bin backup file. If wiz.bin doesn't exist, it will use wiz.bak. If it were to create a new wiz.bin, then as soon as it recreates its own backup file, the one you renamed will be gone.

If you are going to try a new wiz.bin file, save a copy of the existing file in some other directory.

Anyway, my guess is that it is creating a new schedule to take into account the database cahnge. Do you have the scheduling look-ahead set to more than the default 3 days? If so, try setting it back to 3 days.

Do you have a lot of library import files? Rescanning the library might be coming into play too.
