Importing Favorites from 2.2 to 4.0

Hi all,

I'm moving to a new computer so I can use v4.0 and get HDTV. I copied the wiz.bin file from the old computer to the new one and placed it in the "SageTV\SageTV" folder overwriting the wiz.bin file that was already there. I started Sage up and there are no favorites. Did I do something wrong or is there another step I need to take?

Thanks
Axeman

Make sure Sage is completely stopped. Both the SageTV.exe and the service if you are running in service mode. Exit the UI by hitting Alt-F4 then use the service control app to stop the service then copy over the wiz.bin.

Maybe it isn't reading the wiz.bin file that you think it is... did you also just copy your old sage.properties file? In that file, where does the wizard/db_file property say that it is looking for wiz.bin?

If you did copy the properties file, remove it & restart to configure for the new PC.

Thanks Opus4 that was the problem.

For anyone who didn't follow that, V2.x installed itself to "C:\program files\frey technologies" by default. V4.0 installes itself to "C:\program files\SageTV". If you copy both the sage.properties and wiz.bin files from v2.x to the v4.0 the old sage.properties tells sage to look for the wiz.bin file in the old location which doesn't exist anymore.
