HRC signal

Hello,

First off I am VERY new to the VDR world. I just got the card and just downloaded Sage. My card works great with the crappy bundled software as long as I set it to (United States, HRC). I can't seem to set that up in Sage and I've looked.. at every possible menu.

My cable provider is Adelphia and I would not be suprised if they were somehow at fault somewhere. They have recently been upgrading services (new wiring around town). Is it possible to get Sage to switch to HRC? I've looked all through the config file, the forum, etc.

I'd love to buy the software but not until I can get it working

using a Sicuro Dec-100 tuner card (yeah don't laugh as I said I'm new to this)

Thanks for any help

Yeah, HRC is a pain. First of all, make sure you have the latest DirectX. There might be an updated tv frequency table that'll fix this. If that doesn't work, there is a way to override Window's frequency table. See this:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...yoverrides.asp

Search for HRC frequency tables on google, you should be able to find what all the HRC frequencies are. I would try overriding one channel first, see if that works.

Thanks for the suggestion but it did not seem to work.

Went in to regedit, down to my TVautotune, into my TS1-1 (TS1 is my analog cable tuning space) and the -1 means cable. Created a key called 62 then created a dword with the value of the HRC freq (in hz) and it still won't pick up.

Here is a list of all the HRC freqs if anyone else is having this problem

http://www.jneuhaus.com/fccindex/cablech.html

I'm running DX9.0c already with SP2.

Intel 3.2 prescott
Asus P5AD2-E
2 gig DDR2
400 gig sata raid
6600GT pci-x
10 pounds of confusion

This shouldn't be this complicated should it?

Thanks again for the help.

no, it shouldn't... I'm in Los Angeles and I'm currently picking up HRC frequencies on Comcast. I remember I had similar problems for a long time (this was before I started using Sage), but I'm not sure exactly what steps I did to fix it. It could be your unusual tv tuner. Are you sure it's working in Sage properly? Can you attach an antenna and get Sage to tune?

You could try asking Sage for support, I think they're based in Los Angeles, and might have experience w/ this...

I'm pretty sure its working properly 2-3 channels come in fairly well (5, 6 and 31) and I can hear audio on many of the other channels. It just seems the freqs are just slightly out of alignment. Guess I'll ponder this while at work today.

Thanks again for any help

Persistence pays off... found this thread

http://www.tv-cards.com/messageboard...ic.php?t=10661

It has an application (freeware) to manually enter your channels based on freq tables... might I suggest a bundling deal with Sage?

I tested it on 3 channels and they work now...

only 82 more to go! heh

Thanks much again now I can really evaluate the software.
