Strange MVP client/server issue

I'm having difficulty getting my MVP to operate properly. When I start the MVP, it says "Contacting Servers" but never successfully contacts my server.

Attempting to troubleshoot this issue, I started the Sage Client instance that's running in my system tray (to drive the MVP). I can see all of my recordings and access the program guide, but oddly, no video or audio ever actually plays. I don't know if this is working as designed or if it's a problem with my install. Any suggestions or insight?

Your MVP is not connecting. Check you network connection. Make sure you have DHCP enabled and your MVP gets an IP address. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking anything. It should contact and then connect to server and you should see the Sage UI on the MVP.

Well, I'm not sure how, but it's working now. Thanks for the reply.

You can go through the menus on the sagetv client instance (running on the server) but the video and audio don't display on the server. That's normal. I guess the video is redirected to the MVP. Actually makes for a pretty good remote control either across the lan and/or remote desktop from the internet because the video doesn't get in the way.
