remote problems

I have a problem for which I can describe the symptoms of the problem, but really don't know exactly what is causing it, else I might have it figured out by now.

I've got an Origen X11 with the irTrans module as my remote receiver. This works well, and I've configured girder with the microsoft remote for use with Sage with one obvious snag which may be a separate problem. Windows recognizes the direction buttons on the remote and will perform up/down/left/right on any window currently in focus. This means that when girder is fully configured, I have double up/down/left/right in Sage. I an fix this in one of two ways. The best I've found so far is to just disable those buttons in my Sage.gml file in girder. The other is to go into Sage settings and unlink these commands, but its only temporary and those signals return after I close and reopen Sage.

Here's my problem. If I am listening to music, and then try to edit my queue or playlist, the left/right buttons are also functioning as skip forward/backward. This screws up my music when I'm navigating menus. I originally thought it might be related to the issue I described above, but I still have the same problems when I unlink the commands in Sage and use just girder.

Can anyone shed light into these issues?

help with irtrans

Did you ever get this solved?

I just bought the X11 as well. I can not even get it to work. The computerworks, the blue button works, but when I installed the software and restarted, the IR server said it couldnt find irtrans.

I see Irtrans under USB controlers in device manager so I have no idea whats wrong.

Anyway, once I get it to work in general, can you tell me how you set ip up to work with sage? girder etc... any scripts you can share?

Thanks!

Neal
