Sage TV 4.0 problem
I have installed a system for a freind for Sage TV 4.0 as follows:
The server is a P4 3.0Ghz with 1gb of RAM and a large raid 5 array. The client PC currently being used is an EPIA SP 13000 machine. They are connected via gigabit lan. Overall the system works fine but we have a couple of issues: 1. If you either swap channels around a fair bit or use pause/ff/rw alot when watching a recorded show or live tv the sound goes odd. Sometimes it will go out of sync. Other times it will break up completely and just produce corrupted sound. 2. On occaison when watching a divx movie once you get well into the film (in most cases more than half way) the sound will go slightly out of sync or the picture will stutter slightly. The EPG data on the machines is quite large i.e. there are lots and lots of channels. In actual fact I think all the channels broadcast by Sky in the UK. Do you think this is a problem with the Java cache becomming full or something? Does anybody have any ideas please? We also find if you try to use the photo functionality of the thing that the client seems almost to grind to a halt. Thanks in anticipation. Chris. |

Is this only happening on the Client machine? If so, does it happen if you play the file locally on the client? Did you try playing with the decoder settings? I have problems with Overlay on one of my clients and had to set it to default.

Can't try playing back movies on the machine running server.... its a Windows 2003 machine.
If you map the drive the movies etc see to play fine in Media Player tho As I say its normally fine until you've flipped about and stuff which made me think its almost like a memory leak or some kind of problem with the java cashe being full or something.... |
