Question Settings for the Sage Recorder ver. 1.5

Hey all,

Yup, another Noob here. So I'll try to make this quick and simple.

I'm just in need of knowing what are good basic settings for the recorder?!

I do plan on buring and maybe shrinking files so I can put them on DVD's.

I of course would like to have good video and audio quality, but not have to worry about a 2hr. show taking up a load of space on the hard drive. Not until I get another spare drive setup for my recordings only of course.

I looked at the "Advanced Video Capture Settings" in the recorder, but I am at a total loss!

I have attatched some screen shots of the program if that helps.

I have a PVR-350 card.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Sage Recorder Settings

When I first tried Sage Recorder using a PVR-250 card (same as the 350) I used all of the startup default settings and changed the Encoding setting to "Great". With these settings I could record 2 1-hr TV shows and burn to a DVD (using DVD Movie Factory) and get excellent quality. That is something I could not do using WinTV 2000 unless I squeezed it first. 1 TV show taking about 1,900,000kb of HD space, about 1/3 less then Win2000 did. I always record on DVD-RW unless I want to keep the recording forever. With the price of blank discs dropping so low I rather use more discs and get the excellent quality.
