No Capture Card = black screen ??

I would like to sure Sage to just serve Music and Video files for now. Can this be done? This might change in a couple months. My problem is that when I play video files all i get is black screen. The audio is fine. I have gone into the Detailed Video Setup and changed the Rendere and Decoder settings so many times but its allways a black screen. I also get the No Capture card wheever I turn on the software. Would appreciate any ideas. Also, all the video files work with wndows media.

Thanks

The lack of a capture card shouldn't affect the playback screen, but it will keep asking you to configure one every time you start SageTV fresh.

For playback, you could try toggling 3D Acceleration in the Detailed Setup -> Advanced section. If you have more than one monitor, see what happens if the window is on the other monitor. Your video card drivers & DirectX are up to date?

It may also depend on what type of video file you've been trying to play.
