Does Client vesr. have to match server?

I'm a bit hesitant about doing the upgrade since my client seems to be working fine and i don't wanna tepmt the fates (it's only a p3-533, working fine) Any advice?

Yes everything needs to be the same version. In the FAQ there is an entry on how to backup your SageTV installations. Basically copy your entire SageTV directory. Then you can install the updates overtop of your existing installations. If something goes wrong, you can revert back to your previous setup by uninstalling the new version, reinstalling the old version, and copying your backup SageTV directory back where it is supposed to be (overwriting files). This should bring you back to exactly the way you were setup before. I'd still check the FAQ entry in case I missed something.

They don't have to match exactly. Incrimental versions should interoperate (eg 4.0.0 and 4.0.4), but minor-version updates (4.0-4.1) won't/may not.
