2 video cards, 2 Displays - Need Help!
Hello all, long time since I've posted here... right now I'm having a problem and I was wondering if anyone can help me out.
Basically my system has 2 video cards, one for my projector and one for my HDTV. I had to have 2 video cards because I wanted to have 2 different resolutions. The one connected to my HDTV is a GeForce FX5200 and the one connected to my projector is a FX5500. What I want to have happen is have a clone of the same screen on both displays. I was thinking that it would automatically do this or that Windows would give me the option to clone or to extend my desktop to the secondary display. In XP, though, it hasn't given me the option to clone the screen to both display adaptors. Anyone have any ideas how I might be able to get this working?? Is it even possible with my setup?? Thanks in advance. |

Anyone have any ideas? I've heard that ATI X700's and up will do it but I would like to see if anyone else has a similar setup???

I don't think it's possible. It would be a function of the drivers.

*EDIT*alon24... funny you recommended that program... i had used it before a long time ago. it doesn't do exactly what i want but it's good enough for now until some developer somewhere figures out how to create a video card with hardware on it that can clone the same thing to multiple screens with different resolutions.*EDIT*
Thanks for the replies... I wasn't able to get it working in clone mode correctly, but I was able to create a pretty good work around imho. Basically I got a program called ultramon which I've used before in the past, and combined it with girder so that I can press a button on my remote to switch Sage between the displays. So if Sage is currently on my LCD TV, then I can press a button to move it to the projector. This way I can move Sage full screen to whatever screen I want. I also have something similar for Theatertek... what I did was made a profile in ultramon that makes my second monitor (my projector in this case) my primary monitor and make the LCD TV the secondary monitor. I then made a hotkey for this in ultramon and linked it to a remote command in girder. So when I press a button on my remote it will make my projector my primary monitor, which will allow for Theatertek to play on it. Then in Sage I have a button I created using the dynamic menu to have theatertek open on the second monitor using a command line argument /mon 2. I also have the same basic setup for using theatertek on my LCD TV. Anyway, if anyone wants more info on how I did all this, let me know... it's not exactly what I was wanting but at least this way I can use different resolutions on each display and easily switch between the 2.
