Show Analyzer or Comskip settings

Does anyone have either Show Analyzer or ComSkip working well with UK channels? I've fiddled a bit with the settings of Show Analyzer using tips from their forums but its still not working well for the majority of shows and channels.

I'm beginning to think I'm flogging a dead horse. It seems that no matter how I tweak the settings my results are failry poor. If anyone has a good success rate I'd love to know how to improve my settings.

Same here,

I'm (attempting) using SA but I'm having the same problems.

I have two freeview boxes connected to my system, but they just don't seem to work. I would guess that I get about a 10% hit rate at the moment.

ditto

Aha, I was beginning to wonder if I was the only UK user :-)

I too played with comskip, I got as far as about 50% accurate or thereabouts. Some shows/channels detected better than others.

What I did notice that is worth pointing out was that changing the capture settings for my twin pvr150 cards (ie contrast brightness etc.) from setup affected the results an awful lot. The results were far better after I had spent considerable time getting the capture settings right as this obviously affects the black level.

It's certainly useful to know I am not the only UK user, I will play some more with this when I have the time, amd if I can improve this further I'll post here. In the meantime I have resorted to a remote button programmed to skip 150 second chunks and one to skip 10s.

Yep likewise. I'll definitely try adjusting the contrast and brightness settings in the source setup as well though.

Hmm! I works fine here. I have noticed that www.DragonGlobal.org sometimes is very slow to respond and may even take a refresh at times.
http://www.dragonglobal.org/forums/ is the official support forum for SA so it's worth trying again.

sorry, I didn't explain myself properly!

The link within the link didn't work. I can get to http://www.dragonglobal.org/forums/s...=1203#post1203 but I can't use the link on that page:
http://www.dragonglobal.org/forums/s...01&postcount=2 which has the setting details.

Which should be the exact post!

Hmm!

Oh well, I'll just copy the contents here I guess.

For Five (analog channel) I use

Code:

Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 18
Shortest Possible Show Segment = 57
[Score Modifiers]
Length Too Long = 0.1
Low Probability Length = 1.8
Length Too Short = 1
Medium Probability Length If Combined = 1.2
Medium Probability Length = 1.5
High Probability Length If Combined = 2
High Probability Length = 2
Edge Profile Positive Match = 0.1
Edge Profile Negative Match = 1
Edge Profile Unknown Match = 1
[Options]
Aggressive Segmentation = 0
and for ITV2 and ITV3 (Digital Channels)
Code:
Longest Possible Commercial Segment = 400
Longest Possible Individual Commercial = 120
Shortest Possible Commercial Segment = 44.5
Shortest Possible Show Segment = 35.5
[Score Modifiers]
Length Too Long = 0.1
Low Probability Length = 0.7
Length Too Short = 1
Medium Probability Length If Combined = 1.2
Medium Probability Length = 1.5
High Probability Length If Combined = 1.5
High Probability Length = 2
Edge Profile Positive Match = 0.1
Edge Profile Negative Match = 2
