Change default padding in v4.1

Some of the TV recordings seem to start a little late or are stopped early. Can somebody guide me to change the default padding levels? I looked all over detailed set up....could not find any option except to remove padding for recording back to back shows.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can set padding for Favorites (p. 68 in the v4.1 PDF manual) or you can set padding for individual Manual Recordings (p. 103 or so). There is no default padding that affects everything, though there may still be a customization to do so.

there is a default padding customisation which works for 2.2, and partially works for 4.0/4.1 (the partial is because it only works for manual records not favorites -- its on my todo list to fix) See:

This is more of a general question - if I follow your instructions for this
new STV it will replace my old one right? Does this mean that your STV
will replace ALL of the menus with your or just add this new "extra padding
menu"? I was under the impression that it would replace everything so
if you customized some other portion of the menus then I would get those
as well and not just not this padding stuff.
I thought stvi's were used for mods to existing STVs while STVs were
complete menu/ui replacements.
Sorry if its a bone-head question

something else to do

Hi,

Padding is probably the best way to go, but I also found that the "sync with Sage server" for time, didn't work all that well on my machine (It worked pretty good in 2.2 though mmhhm)

The problam was that my PC's internal clock drifts my an amazing couple of seconds EVERY day ... so after a week or so .. shows would en early, missing the "next week" that made my wife REALLY mad at my HTPC

Anyway ... I downloaded and installed analogx ... a freeware NTP time sync program. I'm using that to sync my PC time with that of the global time servers, so .. now I'm running on time and at the moment I'm not using any padding.

Just another idea.

Thanks
Basset
