SageTV Client: change from licensed to trial: how?
I moved my licensed SageTV client from comptuer A to B.
B doesn't work correctly. I want to run the TRIAL client on A for debugging. So I uninstalled the client from A. I installed the client on A. It does not FORGET the license key - it tries to use it to connect to the server and of course fails. I ran the client from a cmd prompt with the REGISTER option but the UI does not have a choice for TRIAL. Assistance appreciated. |

If you don't enter a new license after using the REGISTER parameter, it will remove the license from that PC. It will then run in trial mode or not... meaning if you are past the 15 day trial period, it won't run.

Sage Tech support suggested I try the TRIAL version on another PC in my troubleshooting.
Since the only other PC I can use previously had the TRIAL, then the licensed, then I moved the license to another PC, am I not allowed to revert to a trial on that PC? (grrrr) Last edited by stevech; 01-05-2006 at 11:12 PM. |

Clearing the license, reinstalling, etc., does not reset the trial period. (If it did, there would be an unlimited trial period.)

So I guess what I do is put the license in again and restart the Sage Server so it will permit the change of licensed PC.
