Any Interest for an STV with mini-guide and Digitally recorded icons

Edit: You can try the beta mini guide import here

I've been making a few mods to the default STV. I thought I'd share what I've done so far incase anyone else is interested.. It's very close to the default STV. My goal was for more indicators to know whether or not it was recored with the digital tuner or SD cable. Also I wanted to include the things I missed with Cayars

The changes I've made are:

1. Neilm's dynamic menu import (well it's not a change but I've loaded this import)
2. Added an icon to let you know which encoder is recording the file by it encoder number (the orange number icon).
3. Added a blue outline to any shows that were recorded digitally (just smaller than the white, yellow and red frames and is hard to see in the screen capture)
4. Added a Icon which will also tell you if a show was recorded digitally (the blue "D" icon)
5. Added cayars mini-guide to the OSD.
6. Shrunk the OSD a bit and made it always translucent
7. If you click on a show in the guide or in the recordings menu it will go to the detailed info like in the old version (or was it cayars?) instead of the sub-menu.

I'll attach some screen captures at the end. If anyone is interested I'll post the STV along with the icons.

Things that I will try to do further is

1. alter the top disk space bar to account for digital recordings
2. try to integrate some version of comskip like Cayars
3. Look into CC like was in Cayars

Let me know if there is any interest and I'll post the STV.
I make no claims for support or further enhancement. I do not claim to be in the league as nielm, malore, mlbdude and the rest of the real gurus.. I'm just a guy who's spent too much time with studio and is willing to share his paltry attempt at a modified STV!!!

I'll second that. Especially the mini-guide from Cayars.

I'll look into making the OSD with the mini-guide an import. Of all the mods I did.. That will probably be the easiest.. I can't make any promises... but it will take a little longer than just taking the whole STV!

I would like to have your STV and when you're done, the mini-guide import too.

Thank you very much!
(I've been waiting for ages for the mini-guide import...)

I looked at making an import last night and it looks pretty feasible.... A big pain in the A$$... but feasible.
This is just for the OSD with mini-guide...

Maybe by the end of the weekend... we'll see how much time the wife lets me work on it...

You know the sad part is I could add it to 10 different STV's faster that it take to write the STVi!

I'm also interested in your STV. I much preferred the detailed menus (without submenus). Screenshots look good!

Mini guide ready for test.....

Ok.. Here is the miniguide import.

I've tested it on the default STV and it works fine.

It *should* work with other imports as long as they don't mess with the OSD.

It shouldn't be necessary, but I'd back up your wiz files and the porperties file.

A couple of you guys should try it out and tell me if anything is missing.. I don't really use it much so I'm not sure if it's working the way cayars intended.

Unzip the file to
C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3

Or where you have sage installed..

If it's ok.. Then I'll make a new post on the customizations page.

If there are problems, let me know here...

Enjoy,

Jim

Thanks for the import!
How do you use it? you just press up\down while watching TV?
Because it's not working for me that way...

Thanks again for your effort,
orky7

You need to hit the guide (cntl -x) button to turn it off and on. Then I think you can use the channel up/down? Or at least the arrow keys (that's what I tried)

If that's not how cayars had it, then let me know and I'll try to fix it.. remember this is first try.. I undoubltly didn't get everything right!

I just tried from the stock STV (4.13)
with the dynamic menu (V3.4)
then I imported the .8 that I have...
Then I started some live tv and hit cntl-x and it brought me to the miniguide...

Send me your stv that isn't working...
