S.M.A.R.T. Plug-in
A few days ago my HD became unreadable. Needless to say I have been spending a fair amount of time trying to recover things off the drive.
In the end had I been monitoring the S.M.A.R.T. info on the drive I may have had more time to get things off of it an onto a new functional drive. Would this be possible? I think this could be a benefit to everyone.

this guy's software
http://www.adenix.net/ is free and says it has an API for other programs to access. I downloaded it it does create a status display - (IE only)
