I really don't think it's going to help their viewership numbers any...

There's really no reason for either network to exist anyway - not like there's more then 1 or 2 shows on either that are worthwhile.

Brings us to that a la carte idea where you just buy the channels you want, neither of them would have been on my list.

I remember watching a little known station called Fox here in Chicago many years ago. Had to flip your antenna to get the VHF channel and tune to 32. Now look at them!

UPN is crap without Star Trek. Some would argue that it was crap with it!

Here is my view on the whole UPN subject...

About 2 years ago my friend and I were drinking a few beers at an outside bar and starting talking about HORRIBLE tv. Of course the subject quickly turned to UPN and the WB. Considering the only shows that are on there that are actually original cater to women, mostly girls in the 13-21 year old age we decided it was to blame for our girlfriends, and all women, for having unrealistic expectations for relationships. God damn Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls and all that other crap have women thinking men should bow to their needs and be the super sensitive man that nobody except actors can be. Damn you WB and UPN!

Two words that make UPN worth saving...

Veronica Mars.

If you dismissed this show as being another dawson's creek or gilmore girls or crap like that (like I did originally) then you need to check it out. Go rent the first season or buy it. It's WELL worth watching. I'd go so far as to say it's the best written show on TV right now. And boy do I watch a lotta TV.
