Fresh Install - How to get previous recordings to show

Ok, have been having a few problems with Sage crashing out etc. Have been playing around a lot so wanted to re-install from scratch which I have done. Didn't reuse sage.properties or wiz.bin or anything. The only issue I have is how do I get the old recordings to appear? AT the moment they are in media center under imported videos. How can I get them to appear under Sage Recordings.

My Sage Recodring directory does point to D:\My Documents\My Videos which is where the old Sage Recordings directory was and where all the .mpg's are.

I'm using 4.1.5 but not sure that should make a difference in this case.

Thanks,

Rick

As far as I know, there is no way for you to get them to appear back in to recordings if you did not save your wiz.bin file. This is the case until they give us some type of tool (hopefully) that will let us edit parts of the wiz.bin database.

FWIW, even if there were a tool, where would you get the missing data from?

A long time ago, around 2004, someone almost released a wiz.bin editor and posted a message who would be interested and gave a demo of they layout that you would see. Frey told them it was against policy to post it so it never came out, but it would be fairly easy to add a record in to it if that format was accurate to what it looks like today.

Anway, wishful thinking.

Dang, so the wiz.bin contains all the data for recordings etc. Oh well, hopefully my system stability will improve.

Do you realize that it's "trivial" to add stuff to the SageDB via the public API? (without reverse engineering their binary format)

But that doesn't answer my question, how does that help you? Where would you get the data to replace if not from a wiz.bin?

But, do you still have the file? If so, just stop SageTV & replace the existing wiz.bin with the older one. The only thing you would miss then are any new recordings.
