Where's the wireless MVP?

Didn't Hauppauge announce they would be selling the wireless MVP by last month? Searching around I can't find anything about this on their site or anywhere else other than a couple of articles claim it would be on sale in January... am I missing it somewhere?

I looked around and it seems it should be out already but I can't find it anywhere. This is pure speculation, but perhaps Hauppauge is working really hard to ensure that their wireless chipsets will play well with current AP's that are out there. Taking from experience and through reading several other BB's you need to have fully compliant hardware in order to get MPEG2 streams to feed well. Tons of people claim they can't get it to work even with an excellent connection while you have a few pop up saying they're 60+ feet away going through walls and having flawless performance (which I think they are exaggerating on).

The only time I have been able to get a server/client work well wirelessly is by using a belking 54g+ router and 54g+ pci card (both of which are ~40 feet away and is going through a wall). Even with a low signal SageTV client will work flawlessly, even with using MPEG2 Max Quality settings (5.9G/hour).

When I used an Airlink USB 54g adapter with a belkin 54g AP < 15 ft away and going through a wall, I could only have video play with the worst possible setting (SVCD - 0.7G/hour) - terrible quality.

Now maybe if I moved next to the AP and was not going through a wall I could probably get a better image quality, but it defeats the point of wireless...

Personally, I'm skeptical about whether this device will work well or not, but I'm really curious to know, if it ever will come out.

Well, I've done two wireless setups for MVP on two different systems and had no trouble. Both go through one wall (one with super-thick 1920's era plaster walls) and both work fine. I use a wirless game adapter and a powered hub (to get around a problem with the MVP "rebooting" constantly when it thinks there's an interrupt in the network connection - very annoying). Both are "G" networks and both are running at "great" record quality. These are also 2.2 systems using Matt's MVP client stuff. Never had a problem on either of them, streams are rock solid. Just hoping to simplify the setup a bit and setup a 3rd at another friend's place... having it all in one unit would be much nicer.

Just in case anyone else was waiting for this - the MVP folks tell me the release is postponed till the "end of the quarter" - presumably this means end of March. No word as to why that is...
