Lost settings and faves

Ok, I'm pissed now! I lost all my favorites, my recordings (still physically on the drive, but not in Sage), and most importantly, my custom record settings that I tweaked for 2 weeks to get a video stream that could be massaged and copied onto DVD. what the hell happened? You said that none of this would be lost.

Is this a followup to some other post with the information as to how you did this? Were you trying something new?

Whoops.... This was what happened when I upgraded to 1.4. I was under the impression that upgrading would IN NO WAY affect my setup.

Did you upgrade from 1.3.8 or a beta? I know Jeff changed the format of the .bin files to handle some stability issues with 1.4. Personally I upgraded from 1.3.8 then to one of the early 1.4's then the last beta. I am actually still sitting on that. I have not lost anything. Lucky maybe. But I always make a copy of my Frey folder prior to upgrading.

The only way the Sage.properties or Wiz.bin files get deleted is if you do it manually. There's nothing in the automated process of the Sage Installer or the software itself that will ever delete those files.

Is there a Sage.properties and Wiz.bin file in your SageTV folder? Did you install it to a different path maybe or as a different user?
