Channel-Setup: "Watch request failed".

I'm giving up, I can't find the solution anywhere. I'm using SageTV 4.1.6.75, , used the official release from the download list before, same issue. After setting up my channels with tvtv(de) and downloading the channel list, I can't view a single channel, it simply says "Watch request failed. ERROR (-12): There was a null object requested to playback". The problem is with the roughly... 500 channels, most of them being local differently ones, it would take an eternity to activate every single one, watch tv, see if it works.. Even if I tell it to scan for available channels it doesn't find... or activate a single one. If I activate one I do have a chance to get it to work though, it's just a randomness. If I pick one out, it might or might not be working when I watch tv... But getting all together in that time... *shivers*... I'm using the Hauppage WinTV-PVR USB2.

Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Exclamation RRRrrrrresurrected topic!

I've just been setting up a new HTPC myself, new fresh install of everything and going with SageTV 5.0.2.

I get this error when I am setting up my video source. Its a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150, yet Sage says "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II"... which it is not.

When I try to 'view' channels in the setup wizard, it throws that Error -12 Null object message. Also, when I try to go into "Color Calibration" it does this, making it impossible for me to calibrate from within sage (but thats ok, as I use dscaler for that).

However, if I just head on into SageTV, and 'watch live tv' either from a guide selection or just clicking the livetv button... it works fine.

What the ??

What is really odd, this is the same TV card I used in the prior HTPC setup... Drrr... I dunnagetit!

I've noticed this error on the WinTV 500 when I have done some troubleshooting like moving it to a different slot in my server, etc.

The solution I have found which works is to first quit and restart the SageClient. If that does not work then reinstall the video source and all is well.

Yeah, somehow it cleared itself up on mine... I had done a few uninstall-reinstall of sage because of a stupid SPDIF issue (solved in another thread), so maybe during all those, it cleared up whatever snafoo it had in it.

Strange how that happens, ya know?
