Stuttering and skipping on FF/RW

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sometimes, when watching a show on my Sage server and I skip ahead with the 10sec skip or when comskip jumps over a commercial my playback stutters continually. The audio sounds fine it just jumps around on playback like it is skipping several frames at a time. Usually I FF and RW a time or two and it is back to normal. Sometimes when I hit FF when this is taking place it jumps afead like 2 1/2 minutes. (Yes I have verified that I didn't hit the other FF button) It's getting kind of annoying for me. It does not happen on the MVP and the files play fine in Media player so it doesn't appear to be the recordings.

SageTV 4.1.6
nVidia decoders - latest
Dynamic Menu import
Comskip import
CallerID import
Multifunction stop import

Anyone else?

You might try a different audio decoder to see if one works better than another. And it don't need to match the video decoder. SageTV used to freeze occationally when I skipped forward and I only found out months later that switching my audio decoder fixed the problem.

Cool, I'll give it a try. Didn't think about audio decoder. I changed the video decoder several times. I do have a "mix" using nvidia video and Cyberlink audio. That could be the issue.

Just to acknowledge this thread, changing the audio decoders did indeed correct the stuttering video I was experiencing. Never thought to change the audio since it appeared to be video related. Thanks for the help.
