Already watched favourites recorded (EPG related?)

Overnight, sage seems to have recorded both favourites "the colbert report" and "the daily show", but both are labelled as watched; which I believe is correct for those episodes, if memory serves. I THINK what happened is that the guide info for those shows changed but was not updated in sage till after they had been recorded (epg update occurs 8am). Is that possible? Can the info for a previously aired show be updated on an existing recording from an epg update?

The other reason I'm confused, is there has been an instance where 3 of the same episodes of a show (all had the same EP ID) were recorded for a favourite. So obviously when I watched one of them, they were all marked as watched as one would expect. I was wondering if the same thing had occured: they initially had either show id or the wrong ep id info, but was then changed with an epg update after they had all been recorded?

I _think_ the recording info can get updated if the EPG updates the airing info, so it might be what you are seeing. But, my guide data shows distinct EP IDs for those shows for the next few days, so it looks like it should have unique IDs for shows about to record.

Thanks...I'd like to know for sure, because if it doesn't do that, then how the heck did it happen? The two instances occurred with different shows.....the 3 of the same EP ID was a canadian show on a canadian network, which was aired on about 6 timeshifted channels in the span of a few hours (and I've also seen the title spelled differently using both "&" and "and"). And the daily show comes on like 10+ channels during each day on my satellite, and some have the right ep ids, and some don't it seems. Restricting it to a "good" channel has caused problems with conflicts. I would like to select more then one channel to choose from. Perhaps I should bug sage about this???

You could see what support has to say about EPG updates causing the show info to be updated. I'm really not sure why multiple shows with the same EP-prefixed ID would get recorded... unless you have multiple favorites for the same show, with each one limited to a different channel?
