Talking AC3 support in the works!

Hi All.... I sent an e-mail to SageTV support with some questions about the media extender (MVP) , and they tell me AC3 transcoding support is currently under development.

Just thought you would all like to know......

See there minimatt, I just knew it wouldn't be a good time to start a community project! Thanks for confirming this!

Would like to see WMA support as well - I have many CDs ripped to WMA due to good sound at moderate bit rates.

Does that mean playing archived DVDs through the MVP?

I didn't ask about full ripped DVD support...... but I am happy to leave out the menus...... I just want to access the movies without having to re-encode everything..... Now, if Hauppauge will just release a box with onboard AC3, digital out and YUV out..... Then we'd be in bussiness!

I hope this happens soon. The inability to play DVDs through the MVP is the only reason I haven't bought one yet.
